it takes time for a series of seperate ideas to evolve into a fully concepteptualized album if it wants to have a place in history for ali and basti schwarz, better known as tiefschwarz. since 1998 the duo, as both djs and producers, have perfected the art of dominating the moments only experienced on a dance floor, deeply immersed in sound. their music is unique as it is creative.

ruede hagelstein and watergate go hand in hand. not only is ruede one of the longest running residents at the club, but hes also the man behind some of the labels most acclaimed music and the curator responsible for lucky number 13 in the illustrious watergate mix series. with this, it seemed obvious to put ruede up to his next task: an album.

repress 2021 - since bitten by the techno bug some twenty years ago, sammy goosens aka sierra sam has been following the steady pulse of the kick drum. soon his solo tracks caught the attention of legendary r&s records label who signed him in 1997. james pennigton aka suburban knight started to work with him, co-producing suburban knight s classic album „my sol dark direction“ for peacefrog as well as as well as other remixes and singles. more releases on renowned labels like dirt crew, supplement facts,serialism, upon you or souvenir followed and resulted in a busy schedule, performing analogue live sets at some of the world s most revered clubs such as fabric, rex, wood, watergate or berghain. in may 2014, sam teamed up with kink for a very special 3h20 improvised live jam at watergate club berlin which resulted in the „live at watergate“ release in 2015. apart from this, sam has been busy producing tracks for upon.you, sound of vast, holic trax and proveded a 32 tracks retrospective to best s friends.

the fifth release from the bunte kuh label is another winner: it comes from bardia salour and features three fresh originals with a remix from peter schumann. it s also set to be available on vinyl release too. salour is a german artist who runs his own esteemed events in hamburg and has played all over europe from watergate in berlin to culture box in copenhagen. his dub infused style is utterly distinctive and these new cuts prove that once more. north scapes opens up with a molten, acid tinged bassline. as it grows more wild there are icy hi hat loops layered in with some big piano chords to finish it in style and mean the floor will really go wild. liquid lava is more direct, with hard hitting techno kicks and deft synth sounds colouring in the grooves. then comes the excellent urban signals, a dramatic, dubbier cut with cavernous bottom ends and subtle, supple synths layering in warmth and atmosphere. last of all, peter schumann s lsd25 restyle of north scapes pairs it back to a warm, bubbly warm up house tune that will get you moving with its sonar blips and nice, deep cut and churning drums. all four of these tracks are fresh and classy efforts sure to make their mark.

dynamic dj and producer kölsch is set to release hal, his brand-new collaborative effort with canadian techno heavyweight tiga, on new label ipso. well known for his genre-defining cuts, danish producer kölsch has sold millions of records all over the world under his many different monikers, including seminal lp ‘1977’ and his widely acclaimed albums ‘1983’ & ‘1983’ & ‘1989’, with the latter including kölschs biggest track ‘grey’. a purveyor of deep and minimalist techno, tiga released his 3-track ‘stay cool’ ep earlier this year, with the game changing producer receiving a wealth of support from bbc radio 1 tastemaker pete tong on his last album, the 11-track ‘no fantasy required’ on counter records. made up of thunderous a-side ‘hal’ and a double b-side - containing the cosmic chord patterns of ‘first blood’ and the sinister build of grumbling ‘still so high’ - kölsch and tiga will also perform together b2b at offsonar this summer, with kölsch also scheduled to play a primetime headline set at belgian mega-festival, tomorrowland. “about a year ago i launched my label ipso”, said kölsch. “this summer ipso 002 is coming up, and it s a collab with none other than tiga. we spent a couple of great days in my copenhagen studio, and came up with 3 tracks i m really proud of. since the first release, i also started my ipso night in the legendary gewölbe club in cologne. i’ve had amazing nights there over the last 2 years and now it s time to expand.” having started his ipso residency in cologne, playing a mammoth 9 hour sets, kölsch has since expanded the brand to miami and watergate berlin, with further destinations in the pipeline. labelled as ‘the king of house” by annie mac, who added that kölsch, the ipso boss has garnered a reputation as one of dance music’s most talented producers, playing several ibiza dates over the summer, including ants, hi&#776,,,,,, ibiza’s ‘in the dark’ and circoloco. follow kompakt
